AOEMM will be organising the 40th Technical Updates on Occupational Noise-Related Hearing Disorders and Audiometry Workshop which will be held on Saturday, 26 September 2020 – 8.00 am to 5.15 pm at Columbia Asia Hospital – Bintulu, Sarawak.
Objectives
According to statistics from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Noise-Induced Hearing Loss is one of the most common occupational illnesses affecting workers in Malaysia today.
In light of the new Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019 which are now in effect, the AOEMM is organising this workshop, which we hope will be beneficial to attendees. This workshop will consist of both theoretical, practical audiometry and case discussion sessions facilitated by experienced Occupational Health Practitioners.
By the end of this Technical Update, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate procedures in conducting audiometric testing
- Explain the criteria for diagnosing Occupational Hearing Loss
- Describe the interpretation of audiograms in occupational health practice
- Discuss key areas in implementing Hearing Conservation Programmes at the workplace
